Race Summary
SOUPERMAN HIMSELF angled in to save ground entering the first turn, ranged into striking distance along the inside, angled out and split rivals leaving the second turn, kept on well and wore down SHADES OF HOPE in the strides. SHADES OF HOPE stalked the pace three deep, launched his bid leaving the second turn, poked his head in front with a furlong to run, continued on willingly but was unable to resist the winner. READYROLL tracked the pace along the inside, lacked room inside the sixteenth marker, altered course to the outside and was making up ground. SOUTHERN SQUIRE chased the pace two wide, drew even with a quarter to run, but weakened during the drive and gave way. LEFTYS PACE SETTER made a middle move six wide but failed to sustain the drive. GETTA RHYTHM failed to respond. THE STIG settled in hand, offered a mild bid four wide, but came up empty after six furlongs and dropped out. PHONE THE SPIRIT saved ground to no avail. SMAK DAB was always outrun. SAWMILL pulled clear to set the pace, was collared nearing the quarter pole, veered in and hit the rail once headed and unseated his jockey.
